Back from Accelerate? Here’s What to Do Next

Whew! Wasn’t Accelerate, powered by NetVU, awesome? I saw my NetVU friends in Cincinnati and learned so much. I hung out at the Great American Ballpark and heard from top industry experts. I loved every minute!

If this was your first Accelerate, you’re probably thrilled to have learned so much. You may also be wondering how to share everything you learned with your team. Don’t stress! Here are tips for succeeding after Accelerate:

Consolidate
The first thing to do is to gather all of your notes in one place. Export any information you have from the NetVU Events App. Being able to see everything will make it easier to make decisions about what you’ll share.

Compare Notes
Hopefully, by now you’ve met up with others from your office who attended Accelerate to understand more about their experience and what they learned. It’s best to initially do this while it’s fresh in your minds, but be sure to hold several meetings to really map out your plan. My coworkers and I used the time we spend at the airport and the flight back to talk and combine notes.

Prioritize
As soon as you get back to the office, you know things will be crazy. At least that’s how it is for me. You’ve been out of the office for a few days and will need to jump back in with both feet. That’s why it’s essential to prioritize the material you want to share with your firm. With the combined information from each coworker that attended Accelerate, work with the group to decide what order the knowledge should be shared with others in the office. There will be some information that you learned that is more critical for your office than others. Those things should go at the top of the list while the rest can be shared as you have time. Prioritizing will help you keep your stress level down and stay organized as you come back to the office.

Make a Plan
Now it’s time for you and the others who attended to decide how and when to share. For example, we’ll plan a lunch-and-learn to show off tips and tricks we picked up for our management system. One of us will meet with our agency leaders to discuss the information provided by Vertafore, NetVU and other industry leaders about system road maps and the future of the industry. We also meet with specific departments to share information that will affect them. With so much to share, an action plan will help you stay on track.

Continue Your Learning
Accelerate was definitely an immersion tank of learning and connecting with other industry professionals. Commit to it being your jumping-off point but not your end point!
