Make Accelerate Unforgettable with These 4 Pro Tips

By Cheryl Huff | Posted: 5/01/2019

I know I’m so excited that we’re just weeks away from Accelerate, powered by NetVU. At my office, I’m already preparing, and I encourage you to read my tips for prepping for Accelerate. Check them out! You’ll want to take advantage of everything you can in Cincinnati. Your feet may get tired, but you’ll be glad you experienced it all. Here are four more tips to make the best of Accelerate:

1. Download the NetVU Event App

It’s fun and an absolute must. You’ll be able to view the schedule, chat with other attendees, and keep track of all events. My favorite feature is the ability to create my own agenda of sessions and events. From there, I can export the agenda to my phone’s calendar, so I get reminders. A little birdie told me there are new app features this year, which I can’t wait to see! Be on the lookout for information on how to download the app in a few weeks.

2. Make Time for the Exhibit Hall

Have you seen the incredible exhibitors that will be at Accelerate, powered by NetVU? I love meeting all of the solution providers and always learn a ton. The exhibit hall is also where you’ll find the interactive Vertafore booth, where you’ll have a chance to attend short learning sessions and chat with Vertafore staff. You’ll also find the NetVU Neighborhood, where you’ll get to meet friendly NetVU staff and volunteers. It’s a great chance to learn about all the amazing NetVU resources and find out how you can get involved. And don’t forget to pick up your ribbons!

3. Join Meet-Ups

Throughout Accelerate, NetVU chapters will host meet-ups which are open to everyone interested in joining. If you’re already part of a chapter, it’s a great opportunity to catch up with each other. If you’re interested in learning more about chapters, these meet-ups are your chance to get to know the members in person and join. My Georgia users group has a fabulous time at our meet-up every year. Join us! We’d love to meet you! Also, watch for a list of chapter meetups on NCOM and in the Accelerate schedule in the app.

4. Reach Out & Ask Somebody

I can honestly say that NetVU volunteers and staff are the friendliest people ever. They’re eager to help because their goal is to make your Accelerate experience wonderful.

If you’re in an education session and have a question, raise your hand and ask! Chat with instructors after sessions. They are more than happy to help you connect the dots. If you’re between sessions and need directions, ask a volunteer to point you in the right direction. If you see other attendees talking about something interesting, jump in and ask questions. You never know what you’ll learn from hallway conversations. We’ll all be in Cincinnati to learn from each other.
