IRVING, Tex. (August 28, 2018)
Michael J. Foy, president of Foy Insurance Group, Exeter, New Hampshire, is now chairman of the board of the Network of Vertafore Users (NetVU). Foy served as chairman-elect of NetVU this past year and replaces outgoing chairman Brent Rineck, CPCU, CLU, ChFC. Rineck will serve as an ex-officio member of the board and chairman of the NetVU Conference Steering Committee. Joe Clabaugh, senior group manager with The Cincinnati Insurance Company, becomes the chairman-elect.
Foy has had many volunteer roles at NetVU, including working on the Ideas initiative to encourage collaboration between NetVU members and Vertafore product managers. An active participant in industry technology forums, he has served on insurance company advisory boards and on various committees with the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America.
He joined his family-owned property-casualty agency in 1979. The agency has 12 locations in New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts and South Carolina, and a combined staff of over 100 employees.
"I look forward to working with the NetVU Board, Vertafore leadership and our carrier partners to advance the use of technology for the betterment of our industry," Foy said. "NetVU is truly a community of users. I know that by working together, we can make a big difference in the lives of our members and their clients."
Foy said NetVU will continue to focus on what it does best: advocacy on behalf of Vertafore users, world-class education and networking opportunities through chapters, committees, conferences and its online forum, NCOM. "In the coming year, we'll be working on our strategic goals of increasing member engagement, enhancing the user experience, and recruiting and developing enthusiastic volunteers and staff."
In particular, Foy said he would continue NetVU's efforts to improve communication with Vertafore's leadership and promote the Ideas initiative to spur product enhancements that benefit all Vertafore users.
Foy said working with industry leaders to find solutions to ease new cybersecurity requirements, such as multi-factor authentication, will also be a top priority.
