Insurance Technology Advocate Award Winner

Brad Booth, NcSA is naturally deserving of NetVU’s Insurance Technology Advocate Award, given in memory of Wade S. Dunbar Jr.
Taking a look at Brad’s LinkedIn resume it says he is an experienced information technology manager with a demonstrated history of working in the insurance industry. It should say Brad is a leader and advocate who is redefining how the insurance industry is working together on many important automation initiatives.
With accelerated knowledge for Sagitta and WorkSmart products - Brad does not rest on those laurels but continues teaching and educating others. When asked to comment on how Brad contributes, Michelle Hoffert, IT Project Manager, Baldwin Risk Partners says “Brad has been the ‘cool cat’ champion for many NetVU and Orange Partner Program partners helping us get better integration to our core systems. He is one of the biggest teachers in our community helping so many get the most out of their Vertafore products. Solutions that work with our Sagitta and WorkSmart products are better today because Brad’s efforts are rooted in his passion. His excitement to talk about how better to utilize your system is contagious and #bradbooth.”
Recognizing an essential and real need for agencies who use SQL to have an avenue to share, talk and execute solutions, Brad started the SQL Community for NetVU members who serve in an IT or related role. Communication takes place and connections are forged on NCOM, the NetVU Community and the occasional group phone call. Creating a community which did not exist and is now transforming conversations for SQL reporting, data warehousing, sharing information, ideas and making solid connections is just another facet to Brad.
Everyone has heard of an idea guy, right? According to Bill Henson, Vertafore’s Customer Success Technical Manager, “Brad and I have known each other for some time through different roles and responsibilities and he is the consummate idea guy. Every time we meet, without fail, I come away with a new notion to research or some concept that makes us think of ways to solve it. He is responsible for more than a few sleepless nights, but I might add none are regrettable. This industry has challenges in many areas, and it is always a pleasure to be able to collaborate with Brad.
When asked why she admires Brad, Allyne Miller, Operations Manager, Allen Lawrence & Associates, LLC cuts to the chase “If I could say anything it would be - if you are a real techy and willing to try new creative ideas you will be wide eyed and amazed at how knowledgeable and creative Brad is – and the best part? He is willing to share!”

Brad brings people together to work towards full system utilization and whether it’s one of the leadership roles he has held in multiple chapters or forming a new SQL group of Vertafore users to share ideas and code to transform data, Brad is a true leader in automation” says Lauren Crosby, CMP, CAE, NetVU’s Chapter Coordinator.
Brad embodies NetVU’s mission, “We build the future by utilizing the expertise of our volunteers and staff to promote world-class education, the exchange of ideas, advocacy and technology innovation in the insurance industry.
The Wade S. Dunbar, Jr. Award is designed to honor individuals who have demonstrated the same type of high principles while striving to continue Wade Dunbar’s quest for industry-wide solutions to the insurance process. The entire insurance automation initiative has evolved over the years from just the thrust of single-entry, multi-company interface, to a myriad of other initiatives. Therefore, the recipient may have been successful in ways not yet recognized or developed while Wade was alive. The Insurance Technology Advocate award honors individuals who have demonstrated high principles while striving to drive technology innovation on behalf of the entire industry.
