NetVU Announces New Executive Board

The Network of Vertafore Users (NetVU) announced its annual election of directors, each of whom will serve a one-year term on the organization's executive board beginning July 1. They are:

  • Kate O'Toole, Chairman Elect, Starkweather & Shepley Inc., East Providence, Rhode Island
  • Lorraine Plezia, Treasurer, Risk Strategies Company (RSC), Lincoln, Rhode Island
  • Dean Giem, Immediate Past Chairman, Paradox Insurance Agency, Kalispell, Montana
  • Dana Coates, At-Large Member, United Western Insurance Brokers, Pasadena, California
  • Oliver Connor, At-Large Member, Connor Insurance Agency Inc., Sherrills Ford, North Carolina
  • Jim Rogers, At-Large Member, The Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut
  • Bonnie Wood, At-Large Member, Brown & Brown Insurance, Atlanta, Georgia
  • Anthony Gardner, At-Large Member, Gardner & Strayer Insurance Group Bellevue, Ohio
  • Shyla Lankford, At-Large Member, Lipscomb & Associates, Dallas, Texas

  • Rick Fox, Vertafore Executive Sponsor, Vertafore, Denver (appointed by the Vertafore President/CEO)

This year's slate was chosen by a committee of NetVU peers, who reviewed applications and interviewed numerous candidates. Members ratified the slate by electronic poll during a virtual annual meeting on May 26.
 
Immediate Past Chairman Dean Giem thanked retiring board members Jessica Jeffress of Peel & Holland in Benton, Kentucky, and Jim Dahoney of Marshall & Sterling in Poughkeepsie, New York, for their hard work, their many hours of service, and for their influence and leadership.
 
Incoming Chair Joyce Sigler spoke about connecting to help every insurance professional thrive and challenged NetVU members to speak up and let NetVU know what they need.

“I want us to figure out what makes sense for the future together. Because I think that combining our perspectives and considering our industry from many different angles can shape NetVU into more relevant resource than ever before.”

She pledged NetVU's support over the next year to help NetVU members embrace ideas and increase knowledge.
