How to Run a Better Insurance Business
Accelerate, Powered by NetVU, Offers Expanded Learning Opportunities
IRVING, Texas (February 18, 2020)

Accelerate, powered by NetVU, kicks off April 29 in Minneapolis with expanded educational opportunities to help property-casualty, life, health, and benefits insurance professionals develop business skills in addition to getting the most from their Vertafore systems.

“Besides leveraging their Vertafore tools for efficiency and growth, our members have a strong desire to sharpen their business acumen and strengthen their organizations, so we’ve built a curriculum that features guided discussions with like-minded individuals on topics that are common to all firms,” says Debbie Ivie, NetVU learning experiences manager. “Ultimately, we want to be known as the leading provider of learning opportunities for our members.”

In response to member demand, this year’s Accelerate offers more than 25 “Business Focus” sessions that address leadership and talent development, operational excellence, and executive management. Examples of courses and workshops include:

  • Remote Work: Three sessions on engaging, evaluating, and motivating a remote workforce
  • The Jetsons Meet I, Robot, and Alexa is Born
    • When Reality Isn't Real Anymore and Intelligence Isn't Limited to Big-Brained Humans
    • Connected Devices That Don't Need Humans or Computers to Communicate
    • Making Tomorrow's Technology Available (and Understandable!) Today
  • Maximizing Growth through Diversity and Inclusion
  • How Did I Get Here? Help for the Accidental IT Administrator

Accelerate is the premier learning and networking event for members of the independent agent and broker system who use Vertafore technology. It’s where account managers, department leaders, accounting and administrative staff, and IT professionals will immerse themselves in over 175 classes and workshops taught by fellow users and Vertafore experts, increasing their knowledge and ability to leverage Vertafore products, and building leadership skills to advance their careers.

Over 100 vendors and service providers will exhibit the latest solutions for the independent agency system, and attendees will get to discuss their issues and solve problems one-on-one with Vertafore product experts in the TechHub.

“One of the biggest takeaways from Accelerate is the opportunity for NetVU members to network and meet people who do the same thing they do,” says Jon Gorman, executive director of NetVU. “There’s nothing accidental about it; even a random meeting in a hallway can turn into a fruitful exchange of ideas and result in a lifelong friendship. The return on investment is substantial in real business terms, and on a personal level, attendees tell us they return home with renewed confidence, a positive outlook, and an expanded network of insurance agency leaders and partners they can call on for help and guidance at the drop of a hat.”

Accelerate, powered by NetVU, takes place April 29-May 2 at the Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 2nd Ave S, Minneapolis 55403. It is open to all NetVU members and special guests. For more information and to register, visit netvuaccelerate.com.
