Industry Resources

This page is designed to give NetVU members, and others in the Industry, convenient access to a multitude of resources driving technology adoption in the insurance industry. We encourage and support our Members' involvement in industry workgroups for purposes of education, networking and advocacy. To learn more, Volunteer Now!

NetVU's Industry Playbook provides an overview of the priorities that the industry-at-large is impacted by.  The Playbook provides insights on how these initiatives are affecting NetVU Members / Vertafore Users, and provides guidance for how to consider options that will lead to efficiency, effectiveness and profitability when these initiatives are adopted.  Feel free to reference the NetVU Industry Playbook as you are talking with decision-makers in the industry. The NetVU Industry Relations Committee is currently revamping the existing playbook into a more comprehensive document that includes Ideal State, Pain Points to Adoption, Resources, and Next Steps / Action Plans.  As sections are updated, we will link them here.

Industry Organizations Leading Technology Initiatives

ACT Logo

The Agents Council for Technology (ACT), an initiative of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, is organized to bring all independent agent & broker distribution stakeholders together to advance the use of the most effective agency workflow technologies which enhance productivity, sales & marketing, service and security.  ACT focuses on strategic trends, drives improvements to the customer experience, and provides recommendations and best practices that can be used by all stakeholders.  Visit their Agent-focused "Customer Experience Planning Website".

IVANS Insurance Solutions is the organization responsible for providing connectivity and data exchange between carriers and independent agencies in the property and casualty insurance industry.  IVANS connects more than 350 carriers and MGAs, and 25,000 independent agents, with Download and Real-Time information exchange solutions that drive greater value in the independent agent channel.

What is Real-Time?
When we speak of Real-Time, we mean the ability for you to click on a button from a client file in your agency management system or comparative rater for immediate access to carrier information on that client. The transaction may be a quote, billing inquiry, claim inquiry/loss runs, policy view, endorsements or a request for information.  This provides a single workflow for servicing or quoting.  In Vertafore systems, the Real-Time Tool is called TransactNOW.  This tool is available in the standard installation of AMS360 and Sagitta systems and simply needs to be "turned on" to begin seeing the benefits of real-time workflows.  Visit the NetVU Events Calendar for upcoming webinars teaching you how to implement TransactNOW effectively.

Tips for Maximizing Download Capabilities  Through the IVANS Exchange, your agency can maximize its carrier connections and improve the return on your technology investment by activating all of your available download connections.  NetVU encourages agencies to get started by downloading their IVANS Connections Report.  This report is personalized for your agency, identifies available download connections with your carriers, and indicates the specific download capabilities that your agency has made active and those that are inactive or not turned on at your agency. The report reflects 20 potential download connections from each of your carrier partners, including eDocs, eMessages and Claims download.  Get your free, personalized IVANS Connections Report today!

The overall goal of the Associations & User Group Information Exchange (AUGIE) is to assist agents and brokers in understanding the value of providing 24x7 service to their clients through the resources available to them.  This includes full use of the agency management system and integrated 3rd party solutions that can be deployed to provide mobile, 24x7x365 service.  AUGIE is focused on three priorities that can impact agents' ability to make 24x7 a reality:  eDocs and Messages, Commercial Lines Pairs and Claims Download.

The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents is promoting the Buy Button initiative, designed to empower independent agents to be able to bind insurance coverage in real time for prospects or clients that call on the phone, walk into the agency and meet with a producer, or visit the agency online.  For more information about this concept and support needed to make it a reality, log into NetVU University and view the presentation entitled "The Buy Button Industry Initiative - What Is It, and Why Do I Need It?"

The Insurance Digital Revolution movement is picking up where the Real Time Download Campaign left off.  Many digital technologies are available in the industry today and there are new innovations coming to market on a daily basis that can leverage these technologies.  The goal of IDR is to be a gateway to the information and resources that help agencies learn about these digital technologies so they can maximize utilization of their chosen vendor solution.
